Derek Nelson is a first year PhD student in Dr. Dane Crossley laboratory at the University of North Texas. Derek’s research focuses on the understanding the evolution of the cardiorespiratory function and exercise performance in pelagic fishes. In particular Derek is interested in understanding how PAH exposure in juvenile and embryonic Mahi mahi impacts cardiovascular performance.
